    Adobe Acrobat

Related to my thread on IE7 a few weeks ago (and still can't use that).

I removed the old Acrobat version from my PC (:splapme ) in order to install Acrobat 8 and then found that I can't. I get as far as the "Adobe Download Manager" window and there it hangs, apparently "waiting for a connection". Is this to do with AOL's current incompatibility with IE7, or a different problem?

Bit irritating since I've bought the NH Quickfire systems but can't access them - not insurmountable since I'll do it at work tomorrow, but would prefer to have the facility on my home PC.

Much rep for anyone who can resolve this, and possibly the use of my girlfriend for an entire weekend.

This is a direct link to the Adobe download - You should be able to right click on it and Save Target As...

Thanks TOW. Unfortunately I've already got that far and beyond - the link takes you through to the "Adobe Download Manager", which is where it stops for me.

You could try Foxit which is a freeware pdf reader.

    Hi Gaz,

Is this through Adobe's own Download Manager dialog box (ie. not through your browser), or through your browser itself?

OK - I downloaded from the External Mirror 1 - 8.0.0 on this site - it installed Adobe 8 without using the download manager.

John - it was Adobe's own.

But never mind - Oldham's link did the job. Thanks TOW. After repping you for the first post I can't give you any more ("spread it around"), and I'm afraid I was kidding about the girlfriend for the weekend thing. You probably wouldn't fancy her anyway :D

    Cheers mate :)

    Hi,

I might have posted this before, but here's a great link for free PDF conversion ...

Download both converter & free download.

Great for a professional look to documents you e-mail.
