What Keith means is you can sit 'between us' while we're headbanging... you can hold the beers! :)

Nice wee mixture of gigs there John... I'd list my gigs but I don't think the forum is big enough!

Yu should have let me know you were in Victoria Pk on Tuesday Johnny! I was literally minutes away from you!

In fact I may have passed you trying to make my way home. I would have been the fella mumbling "bloody bunch of layabouts coming round my way making the place look untidy" :D

Campbell, I hope I've been to as many gigs as you have "by the time I get to your age." :) Next on my gig list is Kings Of Leon for definite! Oh, and Rodrigo y Gabriela (who I nearly saw on Wednesday night in Camden, but my time will eventually come to see them!)

Vegmeister - we were rushing to the gig... incredibly early... but going to a gig kinda has that effect on you! What were you doing near Victoria Park on Tuesday!

That's not too bad Peza, the only ones in your list I haven't seen or would never go see were the SPice girls & Peter Andre, and Deacon Blue... I saw T'Pau in the late 80's, I've seen Tina Turner, The Cure, INXS, Maiden, and of course Quo, the rest I'd have give a chance.

Pete Doherty played there as well, October last year I think it was. He got things thrown at him and said something like, "Grimsby is a hole... I'm never coming back to this dump again."

First gig John in 2002 - I had all but stopped by then.

There is no way I could put dates to my gigs but I can do something of a list. A lot of these I have seen many, many times.

Before any starts, Simply Red was purely to keep my wife company.

    Depeche Mode

    Sisters Of Mercy

    OMD

    Simply Red

    Fiction Factory

    Goodbye Mr Mackenzie

    Debbie Harry

    Cult

    Mission

    Siouxsie & The Banshees

    All About Eve

    Green Day

    Manics

    Supergrass

    Suede

    Marc Almond

    Bauhaus

    Sex Pistols

    U2

    Pretenders

    Happy Mondays

    Prodigy

    Placebo

    Levellers

    Beautiful South

    Travis

    Transvision Vamp

    Big Audio Dynamite

    Love and Rockets

    Fun Lovin Criminals

    Therapy

    Mogwai

    Razorlight

    Iggy Pop

    Verve

    Catatonia

    Chumbabwumba

    Faithless

    Pulp

    The Alarm

I'm pretty sure there are others that I've forgotten.

I've never understood the attraction of bestiality but looking back over my life it does appear as though I married a cow, lived with a moose, been out with at least 5 dogs and spent a lot of time being chased by whales.

Out of your bunch I've also seen those... Simply Red for me was because they played an extra date in Glasgow with a cut down light show because it was a last minute thing at a smaller venue... they were brilliant, so good I went to the next gig in Edinburgh to see the full show. All the rest of your list have always been good apart from Big Audio Dynamite - one of only 3 gigs I've walked out of early. I liked the albums, but live they were downright awful, though it didn't help them having all of 6!! support acts, from DJ's to crap dance acts. By the time BAD came on that was my mood!
Also got fond memories of Transvision Vamp... 2000 rabid Scots singing to Wendy "Get yer t!ts out for the lads!". They were great though, rocked up the poppy sound and blew the roof off.
U2 - only saw them once, way back in around 1985 at the Barrowlands in Glasgow... again only a 2000 capacity gig, superb way to catch a band that were obviously destined to become huge... and great support from The Waterboys as well.
Good to see Goodbye Mr McKenzie there as well - another very underrated band, great songs. I'd do my list but it'll need to be another night when I've more time to go through my ticket collection and what's left of my memory!

My keyboard's running out of ink....

BAD - same thing for me. 6 support acts including a rap artist, 2 DJs, some girl doing poetry and a couple of awful bands.

The Mackenzies are definitely in my top 5 bands ever. Me and my mates went back to their hotel and got wrecked with them (apart from Big John who is teetotal). I bet there's not many people can say they got blitzed with Shirley Manson. By the way, I heard Big John now lives in Amsterdam with his "husband".

I do like Angelfish and Isa and The Filthy Tongues (the follow up bands) too but not had a chance to see them yet.

Wendy James - hmmm. Teenage nights just flew by.

I've never understood the attraction of bestiality but looking back over my life it does appear as though I married a cow, lived with a moose, been out with at least 5 dogs and spent a lot of time being chased by whales.

John put his comedy list on too

My God - that list would be huge but I have seen

Alan Davies, Billy Connolly, Eddie Izzard, Bottom, Victoria Wood, Marcus Brigstocke, Jeff Green, Phill Jupitus, Sean Meo, Sean Lock, Chubby Brown, amongst many others.

I've never understood the attraction of bestiality but looking back over my life it does appear as though I married a cow, lived with a moose, been out with at least 5 dogs and spent a lot of time being chased by whales.

Comedy... for all it's regularly branded as "the new rock'n'roll" I've rarley been to comedy gigs.... only been to one that I can think of in a comedy club in London, plus a few comedy plays. I should really go to more.

Crikey that's quite a list you have there Big Man! I'll have a look into those comedians too - not really a fan of Billy Connolly but I'll check out some of the others. :)

I'm also amazed the FLCs came to Grimsby. Rumour has it that Babyshambles are playing there shortly too!

[Ooops... Big Man = counterfeit... your avatars are easily confused!]

By the way - I couldn't remember all of the dates exactly... I just used Google for the most part and entered things like "Band Year Venue" and then found the exact details of the ones I went to. I like to keep all the ticket stubs but nowadays Ticketmaster seem happier to send you a PDF to print out yourself.

There's one or two gigs coming up in April I want to go to (Basement Jaxx, and The Prodigy with Dizzee Rascal) along with Grace Jones in June/July if I can get hold of any tickets.
