That is good news Mat. Apparently he turned down the screen test a month ago and they offered job to Alexander Armstrong, who then backed out and then they came up with a better offer for Stelling. I think he is class on Soccer Saturday but all the women in my family and female friends dont like him, they all remark on him whenever he is on!Originally Posted by mathare

He was tipped for the job just over a month back but pulled out of negotiations a few days later. I certainly didn't see anything saying he had got the job before today's announcement

It was in a number of papers that he was getting the job, I seen it on Sky somewhere. He did pull out of negotiations , but that was mid-October.
