Dont understand why this show has judges. They always go to the public
It is what happens when 13 and 14 year old girls vote, they are not voting for the voice but if his hair is nice or he has a twinkle in his eye. Sting summed it up best last week, its a pretty cruel way to treat young kids, especially when the show is basically for extending the bank balance of the 4 muppets sitting at the front.
To me, Simon Cowell's decision last week to bottle it & let the public decide on whether the best singer Lucie or the Jedward twins should go through was the biggest mistake the man could ever have made.....
.....he KNEW that Lucie was the best singer/performer......& he KNEW (to get rid of any potential threat to his own acts & keep the TV viewing ratings high) that the Jedward twins would have received more public votes, purely because the public KNEW she was good enough to go further in the contest & (the public) didn't think their not voting for her would affect or, as it sadly happened, ruin her chances.
Unfortunately the public vote proved to be Lucie's downfall.
This week, if Cowell didn't see that result coming (due to the public backlash), then he is a bigger than I thought.
It was obvious (to me) that one or even two of his acts were going to end up in the sing-off & get booted out......purely to give him a taste of his own medicine......ie 'don't under-estimate the power of the public'.
Jamie was far better than Lloyd in my opinion......but the public vote said it all, didn't it?
To give him (Simon) some respect, he did actually allude to this in the Xtra Factor show later on, so good on you Simon for at least acknowledging that
.
