Live Flight Tracking on Google Earth (To/From USA Only)

Great tool this for those wanting to track (or stalk) family & friends flying into and out of the USA as you can now track live flights on Google Earth.

As a lot of airlines on US routes have stopped the live map it is also handy to follow your flight a week before, place markers at specific time intervals (say every 15mins) and print it off, that way you know where you are even if it's cloudy

First of all got to Flightwise and select Airline, this will give a list of flights (you can use the flight No. but sometimes they are not always the same as what you might have).

Once you've got the correct flight No., such as Virgin Atlantics Gatwick-Las Vegas, 43G, just enter it HERE, and click the Google Earth button. You can then watch the flight live :)

    Sounds good, but...

The flight ID on http://flightwise.com/flighttracking/ only takes 4 characters, most of the IDs are 6+ characters. Am I missing something?

You just enter the flight NUMBER not LETTERS. The letters define the airline, you already selected that. :wink

That's clever. Thanks. I need to install Google Earth again to get the most out of it though. I miss flying aeroplanes in the flight simulator, that was a lot of fun.

You can fly over Google Earth it has a flight sim in it :)

Actually I've found out that if you find the Aircract number, just click it, then the Google Earth button.

This is the EU version but not as good: www.radarvirtuel.com
