    Fair Maidens?

I am going to select horses that I consider to be a fair price after doing some research on a number of things which may work out in my favour

    Todays Selection is...

JUST FOR LEO who runs in the 2.00 RIPON

    Todays Stake is...

    £11 each way @ SP

I'm going to jump on the Richard Hannon bandwaggon & go for ROYAL EXCHANGE who runs in the 1.35 Newbury.

LATANSAA finished 3rd (had every chance). If K.FALLON had ridden all the Maktoum horses that R.Hills has I think he would have won more races than Hills has.

Here's the FAIR MAIDEN story so far

    Winners 0
    Placed 2
    U/Plcd 1 (4th)
    Bank £886

    Todays Selection is

    LITTLEPORTNBRANDY 5.40 WINDSOR

    Stake £50 @ 10/3

Of a course I can speak Mick the wife's just given me her permission :D

The staking as you can see varies a little. What I have tried to do is try & stake to win various amounts. Yesterdays selection was staked to win £55 hence the stake of £40 @ 11/8. My fair price for RAWNAQ was 5/4.

If a selection loses then the next stake will be be based on recouping that loss plus a profit that is why one of my bets was £150. This £1,000 Challenge is just a bit of fun but I do put a lot of time & effort in as you probably know by now reading my posts that I do have my moments for picking the odd winner or two

Cheers,FR it sounds like you are using a form of retrieve staking, that's interesting as years ago it used to be in vogue, but i have not seen it mentioned for a long time.
As you say the challenge is a bit of fun,but racing appears to be full of aftertimers, and i admire anyone who puts thier selections up before the result is known.Best wishes for continued profits.

Thank you for those kind words Mick.

What makes this Challenge even more Challenging is that I'm only backing Maidens.

You are very welcome FR,i think it is a good thing to specialise, and your choice of Maidens is interesting for myself as i have never looked deeply into these races. If you felt able starting a thread on betting in Maiden races could make for some interesting posts.

good luck with this thread fr,but i think you have made a small mistake when submariner won. you staked £150 @ 11/8 which would have won £206.you have added the stake to the profit which works out at £356 so instead of the balance being £1,190.26 it would have been £1040.26

There's a minor mistake before that too with the balance decreasing from £886 to £834 after a £50 losing bet - there's an extra £2 floating around somewhere?

Your request has been noted :)

I'd like to be able to do a lot more but due to work commitments I simply don't have the time.
