More annoying than Rob Green's slip up was ITV HD going to an ad break literally 20 seconds before England's goal.

I turned it over to normal ITV to see Gerrard running away in celebration

How come? Did Victoria threaten to walk into the US dressing room in the nude?

Jeez they wonder why us Scots get pissed off and support the other teams... yet another feckin reference to 1966!!!

We have to, we can't call on anything else for another 50 years or more.

Why is Lampard so for England? He never plays like that for Chelsea, it's baffling.

Yep. Some of the past is well and truly past it.

What did everyone make of Shaun Wright-Phillips tonight? Has he got anything else to give other than pace? As for his half-hearted goal attempt, after Rooney's perfect, dead weight ball straight to his feet, with time and nobody on him, he should have smashed it with his left foot.

Very true.. but in 4 years time that might be forgotten as we celebrate the 700th anniversary of kicking English at Bannockburn, I think that was the last time we had a decent team!

    no, i do too.

honestly i dont get where the idea england can win the world cup comes from. sure they have a chance, anybody does, but the expectations are way too high as usual.

If we were good enough to win the Cup we would have scored again. It looked like normal boring England in the 2nd half

I don't expect England to win the world cup, how can they with Heskey up front. I just hope for a few passes to team-mates to be honest, that is about all we can expect these days. How many times have we seen England score an early goal, then get all their players in their last third and let the opposition have the ball...it is so boring as I have seen it all before. I thought USA deserved a draw, they were better on the ball than England, their movement was better in my opinion.

Darren Bent or Gabriel Agbonlahor should be there. Not Heskey. Heskey is continually chosen and continually contributes very little. Bent's had a cracking season for Sunderland, give him a chance to shine.
