    Hattrick system

I am looking for a system involving horses that have won the last two races, in the current season, and are looking for a hattrick win.

I am thinking of taking the following as rules to come up with qualifiers:

    a) in one of the two winning runs the horse must have won over the same distance.
    b) horse runs in the same class.
    c) jockey on board is the same as one of the winning runs or at least a jockey with a higher strike rate.

Any other criteria I should look for? Any advice would be appreciated.

Must be only one horse that have won last two races in the card... doesn't matter another factor... What's more, better even the horse not in first three in top rated and betting forcast lists..

We don't seem to get winning sequences like ye olde days due to the way they've remodelled the races. You could have a fiddle on that free horse database thingy

You can separete them in non-hcp and hcp race...

This methods work much better in large field.. Also, you must check out the horses that have won Last time out... are they lowest or highest weighted from your horse?

Also, the ODDS is very important... Better even your horse is more than 10/1...

    Here is the mini utiliy..

    HCP Races

-- Only one horse have won last two races
-- Not in first 3 in betting forcast
-- Not in first 3 form rating cast.
-- Has Not higher weighted horse which won or placed Last time out.

    What about weight?

Like say must have carried similar or bigger weight to win before

    What about field size?

What if your horse has only won two 3-runner affairs & now faces a field of 20?

    & what about going?

Well said mate.. There is a many factor.. The horse has only won two 3-runner with fast pace or pace-off affair... But, many race won by recent form and proven ability.. also, many race won by jockey.. The horse racing is too complicated ( especially turf flat )..

There is not any system that is perfect...But, we can use them "At a glance" and as a guide..

    Godspot, thanks for your input.

The suggestions I have received are all very sensible.

You'll find that horse that have form like '11' or '111' and then run at a big meeting like Aintree and end up with '1110' will usually come out and run well again back in its own grade.

I stumbled on this piece of writing, an excerpt from a free ebook:
http://www.pjmracing.co.uk/index_freepage.htm yesterday which I thought might be of some use here but it is concerned only with flat h'caps:

    Relates to Manner of Victory

"In fact, if we did back all the handicappers which won their last handicap at odds against and received the comment: easily, very easily, canter, comfortably, readily, unchallenged or cleverly, we would back only 71 winners from 336 bets in the period
    1990-94, a strike rate of 21% with a loss of 18p per £1
    staked.

Surprisingly, this loss of 18p per £1 staked is worse than the loss incurred by randomly selecting horses, which won their previous handicap at odds against (i.e. 12p loss per
£1 staked). This indicates the level of under pricing associated with this type of handicap runner.

So, the obvious selection will not necessarily yield a profit. An alternative winner to follow is one which quickens at the end of a race. A horse which exhibits this quality is harder for the handicapper to assess and is often not penalised sufficiently. Backing all horses running in a handicap which had won their previous handicap at odds against and received the comment quickened would have produced the following results: 92 winners from 421 bets, a strike rate of
    22% with a profit of 0.13."

PS: GS can now be followed on Twitter as @themastarata
