A few figures based on BSP across the full set of lays since you started posting...

Lays at or after 9pm have lost 13.64pts on List 1 but have won 7.85pts on List 2
Lays at or after 8pm have lost 32.67pts on List 1 but have won 25.44pts on List 2
Lays at or after 7pm have won 12.77pts on List 1 and have won 44.80pts on List 2

Evenings are pretty profitable on List 2 while it seems that late evenings are costly on List 1 but notice how much profit is generated on List 1 between 7pm and 8pm so you write off List 1 evenings at your peril.

While I'm here, another quick stat for you. The Irish courses have contributed 9.30pts on List 2 and 25.14pts on List 1. I know there have been some moan about the Irish racing banging in the winners a little while back but it seems the Irish lays are profitable.

The Irish tracks tend to have more swings, probably due to them having more races with higher numbers of runners, which can make them a bit of a lottery. But as Mat points out with the stats, we only notice the annoying runs, we don't notice the runs that actually make the profits, just the ones that taketh it away

Mind you, we have to moan about something, we are British

OUCH!!!!

Just going through my results yesterday and got hammered on a number of horses. 3 were borderline cut-offs which I managed to hit, one being a double lay, and 2 others I had at over 10 and yet they both won around 5/1 ...... This is because I had to put the bets on in clumps due to a couple of meetings I had in the afternoon .... I've checked with one of my mates who follows these and he missed the 3 cut-off ones as they were over doing it race-by-race, and got around 7's on the two 5/1 shots.... even more annoying he only made a small loss

This shows you that timing of bet placement can make a big difference in the results you get compared to others.

I finished the day +1pt. Things were going well but 2 late winners wiped away the profits. One of those could possibly have been avoided as it was backed in from 20+ into 9-1. Would it be advisable to avoid these well backed horses?
