So I guess the wolves are all calling for Wenger's head on a block ..... it's as though the fans seem to think they have a right to finish in the top 4 and win trophies. The team has been at the top of the Prem for over 10 years, nothing lasts forever, even ManU will start to have seasons when they win sod all now a number of other teams are catching up and closing the gap.

Wenger's a great manager, and if they got rid of him they struggle to be as consistent. Saying that, Wenger could do with spending a bit more money on players, but his policy has proven itself time and time again, and it's one of the few clubs whose finances are sound.

Not sure I agree. For me Wenger has ALWAYS been a bit touch and go and consistency is certainly not a word I'd associate him with. But he's always done just enough to never be sacked. Now I think his time is up and he's pretty useless. If you'd given Fergie all his squads over the years they'd have a ton more trophies. Give Wenger all Man U's squads and they wouldn't be the record holders they are today.

I think that's a bit harsh. Let's not forget this is a guy who produced a team that went unbeaten for the whole season, no mean feat. It's hard to continually keep producing a top team over a long period and Ferguson is just about the only manager to have done that and even they've had 'iffy' transitional years. I also think Wenger has to work within a budget and I don't think any other managers could have done a better job in that framework. In these days of billionaire's taking over clubs there's only 4 trophies to play for and when you have the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid to name but two to compete against for one of those trophies and then Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea with all their spending power, plus Tottenham and Liverpool amongst it too then a lot of teams will go without trophies.

I would have loved to have seen my team play football like his have over the last decade or so, trophies or not. To this day the best game and most enjoyable game I ever saw was when we (Portsmouth) got stuffed 5-1 at home by Arsenal in the FA Cup. They were just so good and the football they played so good to watch that you couldn't help but enjoy it even though they were taking us apart.

However he does have a real blind spot over keepers I have to admit! If he'd replaced Lehman before he got old with a top keeper I think they may well have won something since then.
