Apparently, we're not in for a bumper payday by following this year's Cheltenham Champion Bumper runners [as mentioned in the live-odds thread], or at least, that's what the Weekender's paddock expert [la-di-da!], Ken Pitterson is predicting:

He says "Pique Sous, still looked green & raw & will turn out the best of these & overall, this contest will not turn out to be the money making machine that it it usually is. The only ones I see making an impact next season are: Champagne River, Moscow Mannon, Royal Guardsman & Horatio Hornblower."

Here's a list of the Racing Post Ratings Improvers from Cheltenham:

[to qualify here their last run must have bettered their personal best from at least three runs within the last 12 months?]

& I'll embolden below the ones which feature on the above list as well to give us more of an 'elite' bunch to watch out for:

Had a winner (Grandads Horse) & a loser (Owen Glendower, took a bump & PU) yesterday from above - got a few going in Ireland today, 4.30 Call The Police (up against it?) 3.55 Chill (quite fancied) & 2.55 His Excellency (looks the Gigginstown House Stud 4th string in a hot race), money coming for Geraghty's mount but I (figures, improved last time too) with Ballysteen, though drifting...
