    Clues required I think....

    5. America's "Beatles"
    9. Hugely popular US singer and jazz musician
    10. American hippy
    14. Female anthem that's as popular now as it was then
16 and 20. First Nashville female star

9 is Let's Face The Music And Dance type thingy but I know neither the proper title (unless that was it) or artist so I have no idea why I have bothered with this post.

Which is a shame because it's an awesome sound. That is truly a great pop record actually

You're thinking of the opening lines:
    I'm the Urban Spaceman, baby,
    I've got speed.
    I've got everything I need.
I think this was your 3000th post Glos. :)

Closest Carpenter's would be "I Need To Be In Love"

Definitely the same artist for these...16 was issued as a B-side but was prefered over the A-side and made no 13 in the charts. 20 made no 1 a few years later.

As for 9, I gave Mathare a huge clue there, which he's missed completely :D

Hahaha....If I'd known that, I would've had something more prosaic and profound to say!

Then it's the bloke that sang Unforgettable too. Don't blame me if I don't know who it is, I wasn't born till the mid-late 70s :)

    More clues?

    9. This unforgettable crooner had a duet with his daughter in the 90's and had a regal title.
    16. Be careful crossing the Tallahatchie Bridge!
    20. If you get 16, you'll have the answer to this.

What, you mean all the profound stuff only happens when I'm not around ?

    Well, that explains a lot! :D :D :D

Final clue for 16...this song inspired a 1976 movie by the same name starring...ummm....Robby Benson and Glynnis O'Connor. Okay, so it's not much of a clue I know but it's all you're going to get :D

At last....and the title for no 16? You're right in that 20 was written by Burt Baccarach and Hal David, but 16 was written by BG herself.

What do you get when you kiss a guy?

Not quite her biggest hit...that was I'll Never Fall In Love Again...but right answer. Quiz complete...pheeeeeeew!

For those that want to know, Robby Benson didn't exactly set the world of acting alight but his voice is in great demand. He provided the voice for Drake in the follow-up to Dragonheart but is probably more well-known for the voice of Beast in the Walt Disney cartoon, Beauty and the Beast.

No 50's quiz...I'm not old enough and pooped out after all that effort!!
