The first person to correctly answer the following question will become the new owner of Thunderball number 9 with effect from Draw 17 on Saturday 6th January.

Anybody can take part......EXCEPT..... Iron Chris, The Oldham Whisper, Mathare & Markwales who each currently own the maximum 2 Thunderballs allowed.

The following list contains 8 novels...4 written by Charles Dickens & 4 by George Eliot.

    i) In which novel does the character Tertius Lydgate appear?
ii) In which novel does the character Mrs Pardiggle appear?

    A. Our Mutual Friend
    B. The Mill On The Floss
    C. Bleak House
    D. Adam Bede
    E. Pickwick Papers
    F. Middlemarch
    G. Little Dorrit
    H. Silas Marner

One answer is from a Dickens novel, the other from an Eliot novel.

Just post two letters (A-H) as your answers for (i) & (ii).

    Ada.

I read those books, believe it or not, in a rabid book consumption phase last year. I laughed because they're both above my head as I type!

    But thanks Ada!

Must be the tootball question as I'm certain about the monarchs - 6 of them from the first 4 Georges plus William IV and Victoria - Canadian football is played with 12 players then making it answer G for that one :)

    That's more like it......well done.

    The correct answers are:

    i) G: 12
ii) D: 6 - George I, II, III, IV, William IV & Victoria.

    Therefore...

Bigcumba......well done....you are now the new owner of Thunderball 8.

(Hopefully Bigmazey is aware it's currently his go to have a crack at the combination. It'd be a shame if he missed his chance at this late stage of the game.)
